The 6th Month

I have been out of work for about 6 months now. I did not apply for unemployment right away, not until about 2 months in. I depleted my savings.

Recently, they cut off my unemployment. They are saying I lied on the application and they want me to pay the unemployment I did collect back. Hmmm, you know I am going to appeal this right?

I did get to work two days last week and I have an interview tomorrow morning. Things will get better, they couldn’t get any worse or could they?

I followed your link from 43things to leave you a message because I don't have the smackers (currency) or whatever they called them leave one for you on that site. I'm VeeShay on 43things.

Calling on patience. I have to type my note all over again.

I suggesting that you consider graphics in the fashion industry. Check out www.stylecareers.com and www.craigslist.com. You will come across some good paying stuff, more so on stylecareers. Monster.com is a great resource, but the process is tedious. If you are looking for a great company, put a job alert on aeropostale.com. The people there are pretty young, but I hear it's a great place to work. I lost an opportunity for an Assoc. Graphics Mgr there because I have no Photoshop or Illustrator experience. That could have been 70k in my pocket. If you put your profile on stylecareers, make sure to put your cell # because the fashion industry won't wait for you. The other thing to do is register with agencies. There are several in NYC that cater to the creative fields such as The Tuttle agency and...??? I forgot who else. I'll look in my e-mail because I'm registered with a couple. I lost my job a year ago and am really ready to see this part of my life as a past chapter. Keep your head up.

I don't think this was everything I said in my previous message to you, but I'm sure I captured the essence.

Have a wonderful, happily employed 2008!
